The of builders, electricians, plumbers, etc very helpful, had great advice and suggestions- were problem solvers and had a great can do attitude - and they were all friendly and helpful and obviously all got on together. Renovation Specialist: Dominic Hollands

Dominic Hollands of Refresh Renovations carried out a renovation project at my house in Massey, West Auckland mid to late last year. This included a full renovation of the upstairs bathroom, updating of the downstairs bathroom, a complete update of the electrical switchboard and other outlets (to enable compliance), complete new external guttering and roof clean and repaint, mould maintenance work in the bedrooms, and kitchen tiling.
Dominic came up with cost effective solutions to my scope and based on my budget. He also managed all the issues that arose during the project (non-compliant switchboard and bathroom heater being two of them). His suggestion to repair and repaint (with a special paint) the roof instead of re-roofing is saved me a lot of money.
I live in Australia and so was reliant on Dominic to manage the project to schedule and budget (which he did), as well as liaising with my tenants who were living there at the time. Myself and the tenants were very happy with how the project went. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him for other’s renovation.

We owned a classic Auckland villa in Onehunga which required the usual renovation requirements of an aging villa. These included full house re-piling, exterior and window rot repair and paint (including new timber joinery), roof repair and paint, interior painting and tiling, and some plumbing work. Dominic at Refresh initially led us through the design and council consenting process for the re-piling work. Following this, Dominic and his team undertook all the renovation works mentioned above, dealing with all the subcontractors without us having to get involved. Renovations can be stressful (especially through COVID), and there were issues which popped up, however these were communicated and resolved satisfactorily. Dominic took care of all the council documentation, inspections as well as the final CCC. Overall we are really pleased with the results and glad we engaged Dominic at Refresh to help us through the process. We would definitely recommend Dominic and his team.

Renovation Consultant: Dominic Holland

Dom and Rebecca from Refresh Renovations did an outstanding job project managing our kitchen replacement. They helped with planning and design, had many great suggestions that added to the final look, organized an efficient team of tradies that actually turned up when they said they would and who all took great pride in their work. Rebecca and Dom were always easy to contact and, no matter how fussy we were, they greeted us with a smile and a “no problem” attitude. Cannot recommend these guys highly enough and will definitely use them again myself for future renovations.

We live about 100 km from our apartment in Auckland, so it was important that our renovation project was managed by someone we could trust to co-ordinate all the trades, liaise with the Body Corporate and who understood our requirements thoroughly. Dominic professionally managed this complexity throughout the entire project keeping us regularly updated on progress and capably dealing with the minor niggles that can arise with such projects.
The budget was agreed once the project was priced up and was honoured despite a few minor changes being necessary once the work had commenced. Nothing was a major problem and it was easy to discuss various alternative solutions with Dominic.
The finished results look great and are a testament to Dominic’s commitment to managing a successful outcome – sometimes going above and beyond the remit of a project manager to ensure that minor details were addressed. We would certainly recommend Dominic to anyone contemplating a renovation project – even in an apartment situation!
