We had a vision of a complex under house extension - separate unit with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, living areas, deck looking over underutilised back yard and elevated views. We found it hard to get anyone to even look at the job. But Martin at Refresh Renovations Gold Coast took it step by step - ideas, concepts, initial plans through to full drawings, costings, engineers report etc. The result was a beautiful design that we loved. Unfortunately the engineering and construction aspects of building under our house on a steep gradient put it out of our reach. But Martin's approach made it possible to explore thoroughly before making our decision. We've referred family members to Martin since and their major renovation is now under way.

We went through both concept and feasibility stages. At the concept stage, JC from Perfect Square alongside Martin talked us through various option of how they had envisioned our plan notes and bought it to life - and they were very open to discussion and accommodating when we had queries as to whether other options would work. Once the final concept was agreed upon, we went to the feasibility stage and this was amazingly thorough and left no detail or cost unaccounted for - which is brilliant when you are doing a build/extension. My home is now complete. After Martin and his team did a wonderful job renovating the first floor of my villa, I decided to go ahead with Refresh to renovate my ground floor; a space that could be used for a self contained unit, or additional space for spreading out and taking advantage of the garden. After discovering issues with the structural beam, and on engineers advice, the main beam was replaced, the kitchenette redesigned to sit unobtrusively along one wall and the back of the house opened up with bifold doors, bringing the outside in. Martin's team was efficient and the work was timely. Any issues were dealt with and resolved. I'm very happy with the finished product and now have a brand new home. Thanks Martin and Refresh.

I had found it was very difficult to even get a phone number for a renovation company it was all email communication or if there was a phone number you were answered by a recorded message. Positive: Professionalism, Responsiveness, Value For some years we had thought about renovating the large double garage at the rear of our family home in to an apartment. We googled and contacted a couple of builders and also Refresh Renovations. Scott Randell came out with a builder and looked at what we wanted to achieve. The process was set in motion. We liked the concept of having someone - Narelle Randell to manage the project. A concept design was created and presented to us by the architect Narelle chose. The pool filter had to be moved out of the existing garage and a small old bathroom in the corner demolished. The space was gutted. Covid and lockdowns delayed things but basically it took 8 months. Narelle was patient when we thought of things along the way. She introduced us to an Interior Designer who assisted in process of colour and fitting choices. We do not hesitate to recommend Narelle Randell and Refresh Renovations to manage a renovation process for you. PS Since the renovation was completed Narelle & Refresh Renovations have gone above and beyond with sorting some little things that have cropped up - especially with the huge Sydney rains. We are both so very happy with the outcome!

Thank you Refresh Renovations!!! Narelle visited us late 2020 to understand what we wanted for our home. She started off the process with architectural drawings, design plans, all the way through to the final finished build! She was very professional, polite and understanding, even with all of the changes that we had. It was during Covid, and we had plenty of changes, and she somehow got us to the finish line way ahead of schedule! Easy process, very knowledgeable and gave great advice, easy to talk to and understood what we needed and wanted. I had an initial consultation with Michael to see about renovating and extending a home we recently purchased. Michael explained his process which initially seemed a bit over the top, when compared to other quotes we sought - we learned to appreciate how much value his feasibility study can provide versus others who literally hand wave and with experience will give a quote. Thanks to his consult, we realised we would probably be better served if we waited for a bit more money to come in before engaging his services. I look forward working with Michael, especially as he is a 'one stop shop' versus other players in the market who will do A but not B and we just don't have time to go picking further tradespeople for small things. Hashim from Refresh Renovations is professional, patient, approachable, responsive, and excellent in communications. He puts every thing on the table and is accountable for what he is committed. Some tradesmen just want quick profit and Hashim is different. Considering I do not live in Sydney he was extremely helpful and did many things on my behalf, such as council visit. Michael and his team just finished an amazing bathroom/laundry upgrade for me. I have two sinks in my guest bathroom/laundry room and asked for them to convert one sink to a shower, which they executed in time and within my budget. The initial communication was easy and professional and I was promptly presented with designs and a quote. I am so delighted with the outcome and turnaround and will surely hire them again for my future projects.

This is the second time we have engaged Refresh Renovations - South East and Leigh McDonald to transform our home. On this occasion we enlisted Refresh to make over our main bathroom after our stunning kitchen renovation earlier in the year. Leigh was able to make our vision a reality and assisted us in making a functional, practical and aesthetically beautiful space that is filled with natural light and modern fixtures. The trades used were very professional and highly skilled, lead by Richard Naudi. The workmanship is top quality and the whole process was stress free . Communication was excellent and consultation on the build was exceptional. All the trades were very respectful of our space and keeping the area safe and clean. Refresh Renovations were very professional, friendly, responsive and gave very helpful advice. The only reason why I didn’t use their business is because I’ve learned that some single-trade renovation projects are best handled on your own but they would add more value to projects with multiple trades.

We had an excellent experience using Refresh Renovations East and South East. We conducted a major renovation, with rooms remodelled, extensions, a new roof, windows, doors and multi outdoor entertainment areas, and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. From the initial consultation and design discussions right through to completion of the renovation, Leigh provided friendly, informative and very responsive customer service. We were always kept updated on future activities and any decisions that were required to made to ensure everything progressed efficiently. Even with the COVID restrictions Leigh managed to limit the impact on the overall timetable and importantly we had no surprises along the way. The project finished slightly over time due to COVID and the numerous additional changes that we requested, but were still on budget and we couldn’t be more pleased with the fantastic end result. The attention to detail by the builder; Richard and the quality workmanship by all the tradespeople, ensured that our renovation was of high quality with an exceptional finish. From our initial thoughts and concepts, what eventuated as the final product, exceeded our expectations and we were blown away with the end result. Marcus and Keith from Refresh Renovations transformed our outdoor shed into a modern and stylish mancave/studio apartment. We love the end result and are very impressed with the work that has been carried out. There was a slight hiccup with Covid lockdown but Marcus still managed to get it to a liveable standard before completing the project. We cannot recommend Refresh Renovations highly enough. 

The whole process of renovating the outdoor space of our home was easy. I purchased a home and planned to remove some built-in joinery and give a fresh coat of paint, but unexpectedly behind the joinery in each room were concrete exterior walls and water damage- and I discovered this when I already had a team of painters there. I was quite stressed, as I did not have a builder involved in the project, but remembered I had Hashim's contact details from a previous tentative discussion about potential reno's down the track- one phone call to Hashim and he was there with his building manager literally within an hour- we had new walls installed for the painters within 24 hours- it was so fast that painters were completely uninterrupted. Saved the day is an understatement, Hashim and John worked so hard at a moments notice to not only fix our surprise wall problem but also to coordinate tradespeople and "finish the house" to an incredibly high standard. To get the job done on a tight timeline, John was there himself mixing concrete on a Saturday afternoon, we are beyond grateful for the help and high quality work. Refresh Renovations do very high-quality work with excellent attention to detail and are very experienced builders/renovators.

Refresh Renovations did the best renovation on my flat - so creative, so well-priced, so precise and careful and with so much kindness and professionalism. And on time and to budget. All of their team members are expert at what they do - design, colours, electrical, building, plumbing, floorboards etc, and Refresh really listen to what you want and what you can afford and advise you accordingly. I was delighted, after having had what I felt were a few quick quotes from others, when Martin came and spent about an hour with me at the first visit – so important to me as someone with no other way of judging the likely quality of end results from different builders. I felt Rick, our builder, and Martin, made an excellent team, with Martin providing excellent communication, and calling on Rick’s extensive knowledge of the construction side, whenever I asked a question Martin was not sure about. The process of negotiating with the council to maximise the size of the deck I was allowed was also invaluable.

The uncertainties of timelines for completion were I feel well explained, and set out in the contract, and although exceeded to some extent, I was comfortable with this having to some extent been forewarned about delays with council approvals.

Likewise, with the budget, it was higher than I had anticipated but seemed reasonable for the attention being paid to the project.

I would strongly recommend Refresh Renovations to someone not quite sure of how to go about the whole process of translating their idea into reality, and as I think the photos show, along with favourable comments from neighbours, the excellent end result is witness to the value of the careful, unhurried thought and planning which Martin and Rick put into every step along the way.

We were really impressed with Leigh, Refresh Renovations East & South East territory, and all his assistance as we enquired about renovations. He was prompt in communication, clear in the process and professional in all aspects of our dealings.

I can't recommend Guy and Refresh Renovations highly enough! From the initial discussions through to the finished renovation, Guy delivered on the promises. The renovation was delivered on time, on budget and the quality of workmanship is second to none. Michelle and I had high expectations in terms of what we wanted and I'm happy to say our expectations were exceeded.

Recently we contracted Refresh Renovations and Martin to compile a mapping of all the area around the building. We asked for the mapping to show all the areas we intend to have irrigation installed in. We also wanted all the other existing infrastructure, car parks, pathways, drains, Stormwater. ventilation outlets, pool and surrounds etc included. We also required drop-down files in various formats.
We are very happy with the plans and files that have been done. They were always very helpful in making any changes we required during the process.

We knew we wanted to stay in our home as long as possible but with only 3 bedrooms and one living space room was getting tight with toys galore after having our son in 2017.   I reached out to the land of facebook and a friend reached out and advised her brother in law Leigh owned his own renovations business and to have a look.   I jumped on to the facebook page and immediately saw a garage conversion and loved the results. I knew what I wanted and I knew I wanted quality work and I didn’t want to have to deal with organising tradies etc myself so it worked out well to go through someone who would do it all for us.   We met with Leigh and he went through the process and straight away we felt comfortable with him.   The process was smooth enough, and each step was met with lots of communication along the way. We always knew where we stood in the process and there was never any unknown with Leigh.   Once we agreed to the price and the permit was approved it was all steam ahead from there.   Any questions throughout the process Leigh was very quick to respond and any concerns he was right on top of it and onto it promptly.   Whilst the cost of doing jobs like this doesn’t come cheap especially when you are using a renovation specialist, it does take the stress out of having to arrange tradies, quotes, etc and that for us meant more than saving some money.   Overall we are very very happy with the renovation, it has allowed us to stay in our home which we built for many more years and provided us much more room and a lovely outdoor pergola for upcoming summer.   Love our new space, Thank you so much Leigh, Richard, Rob, and all the boys!

As an inexperienced renovator with no trade skills, contacts or ideas heading into a renovation is a very daunting process. When I called Leigh to come out and give me a run down on the process involved in a garage conversion I felt immediately assured that I’d made a smart decision in outsourcing this overwhelming task. To Leigh’s credit despite his belief that the project might not even get off the ground due to council regulations he did the professional thing and went through with the presentation anyway. Fortunately he was only half right and the project could continue. The entire process from start to finish was entirely stress free, the only hands on involvement I was required to have was choosing flooring, fittings and finishes (the only parts I felt reasonably comfortable in having input). All the trades were organised and managed, materials and deliveries coordinated, as well as a skip bin for demolition and a cleaner to finish it all off, all I had to do was give him an ok via text. All this right through the stage 2 and 3 lockdown restrictions. The finished product significantly exceeds our expectations and I could not recommend Leigh and the team at Refresh Renovations East & South East any higher!

Leigh and the entire team at Refresh Renovations were a great pleasure to deal with from the onset. Leigh understood my concerns and reservations as I was project managing the major renovation of the suite, bathroom, toilet, laundry on behalf of my 77 year old father while he was away. Having been previously in the building industry as a project manager, the ease of daily communication, design assistance, Leigh's skill level, understanding, the skill level of all trades was second to none, alleviating any concerns that I knew could potentially but did NOT arise. Marcus & his team has recently just completed our house extension. We’re so happy with the final outcome of our new living room, laundry, bedroom & Master Ensuite. Marcus helped us come up with the right plan & design with the extension. We certainly couldn’t be more happier with all the work he & his team has done. I highly recommend him for any house renovation or house extension works. We have been looking for a builder for our extension for a long time but most of the time we are quoted way beyond our budget. There was a time that we were looking at building a granny flat at the back of our house because it is too expensive to extend. Marcus has given us hope that it is possible to build within our budget and he did.

Very professional and extremely helpful. Leigh kept me informed about the comings and goings of all the tradespeople. This was important as I have an old dog who lives in the house and I was at work some of the days. Richard Andrew and Hussain were fantastic closing the doors so that he didn't escape. He's a bit of a Houdini with no road sense so this was important to me. I couldn't be happier with the end result. My ensuite is better than I could have hoped for as it is a small space. It's opened it up and seems so much larger. Very much enjoying my spacious shower. 

Marcus and his team recently completed a renovation of our first house, and we are glad we chose them! Very happy with end product and process involved. Refresh Illawarra were very professional and committed to providing a high level of customer service at all stages. As with any project, there can be small issues that need addressing and having someone monitoring, controlling the process and resolving problems was a great way to alleviate the stress involved.

We were taking out internal walls which required a steel beam, and we were going to DIY some tasks to keep our costs down. Marcus was understanding about all of this - and he met our tight timeframe for consent and plans which was much appreciated!
